Not good for me, September 15, 2011 By This review is from: ORTHAHEEL Women's Melissa Mule (Apparel) I know many women love these shoes but I found them wide and I have a wide foot. I am difficult to fit due to various foot issues. The arch would poke into my arch and I think it would take a very long time, if ever for me to get use to these. Like walking on an extremely firm foot bed. Tons of toe room. I couldn't tighten the strap tight enough to ensure they would flip off my foot. Their flip flops where you toes have something to grip may be better. The toe bar on me was not placed under the base of my toes as it should be. I could feel it with the tips of my toes. I think I will give their orthodic a try instead of their shoes. They were pretty cute and appeared to be made well. If you have a wide foot their medium is more like a wide. The heel cup was very deep and I can see how it would properly control your ankle motion.

Worth A Try, December 17, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: ORTHAHEEL Women's Melissa Mule (Apparel) I wear clogs all winter, and orthotic insoles would slide out of them. I decided to try the orthotic mules, and am quite pleased with them. When first put on, they felt very hard under foot, and the arch support felt like a giant marble. However, as the shoes warm to your feet and have more "give," they provide excellent support and alignment. The toe box is quite wide, which accommodates winter socks, as well as (alas) bunions. The style is more attractive than some "corrective" shoes; the brown is a cool, dark taupe--not warm chocolate brown. Looks good with jeans. I would prefer leather uppers, but this material seems pretty substantial and is nice looking. For the price, this is a very good item, and I will probably buy another pair.

Great! Helps Plantar Fascitis Heel Pain, December 19, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: ORTHAHEEL Women's Melissa Mule (Apparel) I have bunions, heel spurs, and plantar fascitis. Up to now, the only shoes that I have found remotely comfortable are Crocs. Now it's great to have something a little bit dressier. But more important, my feet are not in pain all day. These shoes are very comfortable - it just took a few days of wearing them for a few hours at a time to get used to them. Now I can wear them all day and they are a huge relief. I don't want to take them off!
The support just behind the ball of the foot and under the arch helps to correct my over-pronation. As I walk it actually seems to massage the tight spot where the tendon connects, relieving plantar fascitis pain by loosening up the tendon under the foot. My feet even seem less painful in the morning right after I get out of bed. If you are suffering from heel pain, this is the shoe for you. I will definitely be ordering more Orthaheels.
