It is lightweight melamine or equivalent and ghosts easily. Further, there is no ability to contact "Board Dudes" either through Amazon or packaging. Do not spend twice as much to buy this board because you're expecting porcelain.

We received in great condition and in a timely manner. A year later it still works great and erases well.

It was the perfect addition to the classroom. The surface is very smooth and easy to write on. It also cleans up very easily with either tissue paper or wet paper towel, depending on which pens you are using. Installation was also fairly easy with 4 brackets with drywall anchors which hold the board snugly to the wall. There is also a nice aluminum tray which clips on to the bottom for holding pens and erasers. Another neat feature is the ability of the board to hold magnets. You can really tell the difference between this, porcelain surfaced, board and the other plastic / melamine type boards. This is a pretty high-quality product and you can feel safe ordering this.
